Eastern Sierra Pilgrimage: Trout Bliss!

I simply love fishing the Eastern Sierra. It's addicting.

Just returned from yet another successful trip up there. 

Tried out a DIY action camera dome lens. Fun but tricky to get the right angle. 

Long Lake, seen here, is always looking good.

Definitely my favorite underwater shot. The curve of the stream was perfectly captured with the dome lens.

This is the most fly fishing I've done in the Sierra - and I'm so glad I've switched over to this style of fishing for trout primarily! It really works well and is so much more satisfying!

Local California Trout Stream Report

Local water. Local fish. 

 

All day trip into Southern California backcountry (does this actually exist). Fantastic times with fishing friends on the water. The fish were wary but we all still caught several. Grateful for the opportunity and for the folks that made it happen. Location? A secret.

Wild Brown Trout Fishing in Southern California

Another wonderful wild trout fishing trip, deep in the mountains of SoCal. This time, brown trout were the target species and they were eager to play!

Angeles National Forest Brown Trout Fishing

This my second brown trout to come from fishing in the Angeles National Forest. It's from a pretty accessible spot, so I definitely will keep it on the secret side. Not a very big brown trout, but definitely a delightful fish to catch and release!
